Covid Dance Safety Policies for In-Person Sessions

Meher Dance Company, its teachers and partner studios are continuously monitoring the public health situation with Covid 19 and are taking all precautions to keep students, teachers and families safe as we open up in-person dance classes.

Please understand that issued protocols have been a very fluid situation, with rules and pronouncements changing on a near daily basis. Our rented studios and us will be following recommended guidelines by CDC and the state of Illinois throughout the whole season.

Our classes will require students, teachers and parents to comply to the following:

*First and foremost: IF YOU OR YOUR CHILD IS SICK, PLEASE STAY HOME & INFORM US IMMEDIATELY*

  • Practice social distance during class

  • Everyone will be required to wear masks for their duration in the studio and building even while they dance

  • Limiting our class sizes and guests

  • Create breaks between classes to allow time for cleaning

  • You will be informed about any changes as they occur

  • We would like students to be dropped off and picked up at the front door.

  • Parents will not be able to enter and stay in the dance studio.

  • Hand sanitizer will be dispensed upon entering and exiting the building.

  • Please limit bags and other carried items. Come as fully dressed for class as is possible.

  • Please have the kids go to the restroom before coming to the studio; however, they will be accessible for students if needed. For the younger children, we ask that you help them go to the bathroom as they enter if needed.

  • Each student will need to bring their own water bottle. We will distance their water stations so that they can comfortably drink water during break. For the younger children, we ask that you have something for your child to drink before entering and then ready directly after.

  • Scheduling of classes has been adjusted to limit the numbers of persons in the building at any time. Some locations may have other classes during that time and we will make sure the process of entering/exiting will limit interaction.

  • There are marks on the floor that the teachers will have the dancers work around.

*If CDC and the State of Illinois revert their decision to have dance studios or student related activities closed for in-person service, we will continue our dance lessons online through a private zoom room until further notice. There will be no discounts, prorations or refunds in this case for any reason.*

*If anyone in our class or studio contracts Covid 19, then you will be notified immediately. In this circumstance, we will discontinue class in the studio and resume class virtually until it is safe to return to the space.*
